1. PRE-SALE

* 1. How do I buy a suppressor?
You can purchase directly on our website though Capitol Armory, our Fulfillment Partner. After checkout, Capitol Armory will guide you through providing the necessary documents (trust documents, fingerprints, photos, etc.) for the ATF Form 4 process. * 2. What do I need to purchase a suppressor?
You must be at least 21 years old, a U.S. citizen/resident of a state where suppressor ownership is legal, and able to pass a background check. You also need an NFA Gun Trust (or can file as an individual). Fingerprints and a passport-style photo are required for ATF submission. * 3. Can I get approved if I have a misdemeanor?
A misdemeanor doesn’t automatically disqualify you, but it depends on the offense. * 4. I have pending criminal charges—will that affect approval?
Pending charges may cause a delay or denial of your Form 4. The ATF may require that charges be resolved before approval. Consult legal counsel if needed. * 5. What states do you ship to?
We ship suppressors to the following states: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Carolina, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. * 6. Can you ship to a PO Box?
No. NFA items must be shipped with an adult signature to a valid physical address. PO Boxes are not allowed for NFA shipments. * 7. What happens when I order through you?
When you place an order with us, you will receive two important emails from Capitol Armory. The first email contains detailed instructions on how to complete your fingerprinting, including links to find a fingerprinting service near you, ways to obtain a digital fingerprint file, and an option to mail in physical fingerprint cards. Capitol Armory also offer an at-home Fingerprint Kit, allowing you to ink your prints yourself and mail the completed cards back to them, which they will then digitize for the ATF. The second email guides you through setting up your online profile, where you’ll upload a photo, provide demographic information, and indicate whether you wish to file under a Trust or as an Individual, and whether you prefer an electronic or paper ATF submission. If you already have your own trust, you may upload it during this step; if not, you can create a new Trust. Once they have both your completed fingerprints and your online profile information, they will prepare your ATF paperwork and send it to you via DocuSign for a digital signature. Should you choose to file electronically (eForm 4), Capitol Armory will then submit your form to the ATF on your behalf. * 8. Do I pay a tax stamp per order or per NFA item?
Correct. As of January 1, 2026, the tax stamp fee has been waived to $0 from $200, though the filing requirement remains mandatory.. * 9. Can I transfer this order to my local dealer or use a Kiosk instead?
Yes. Capitol Armory can do a dealer-to-dealer transfer (ATF Form 3), then you would complete a Form 4 with your local dealer. Be aware this may add extra wait time and possible transfer fees. * 10. Do you submit my Form 4 electronically?
Yes, if you choose to. You’ll receive that option after you purchase and create your profile with Capitol Armory. Certification or the electronic submission is easy and takes about 3-5 minutes per serial number. You’ll receive a special phone number to call and Capitol Armory will do a quick desktop share through your web browser. During this process you’ll enter your ATF eForms username and 4 digit pin to complete the electronic Form 4. * 11. If I purchase again, do I have to submit fingerprints and photos again?
No, Capitol Armory keep everything on file so subsequent purchases are a breeze. If you buy a 2nd time, all you’ll have to do is DocuSign your Form 4 and submit it electronically (should you choose to do so).

Should you choose to file electronically (eForm 4), Capitol Armory will then submit your form to the ATF on your behalf. * 2. How do I create a trust or add responsible persons to yours?
We offer the Capitol Armory Trust, which initially includes only the purchaser as a trustee. If you add co-trustees before submitting the Form 4; they must provide fingerprints, a photo, and personal information. Beneficiaries or successor trustees do not need fingerprints unless they become co-trustees. Our Trust allows you to add Trustees at any time. * 3. How do I send in my fingerprints?
You can mail physical cards to: Capitol Armory, 2000 Windy Ter #1A, Cedar Park, TX 78613, or upload an .EFT file to your profile at tools.capitolarmory.com. They keep your fingerprints on file for future purchases. * 4. Where can I get my fingerprints taken?
After purchase, Capitol Armory will provide links to help you make an appointment near you. They also offer an at-home fingerprint kit, and most law enforcement agencies or private fingerprint services can assist. If you used a Silencer Shop kiosk before, you can request a physical card from them as well. * 5. Do you have fingerprint kits?
Yes. Capitol Armory can provide FD-258 cards if needed. You can request a Fingerprint Kit on our website while adding your Suppressor to the cart. * 6. I already sent my fingerprints to the ATF in the past—do I need to do it again?
Yes. The ATF requires a new set of prints (cards or .EFT) with every Form 4 submission. However, Capitol Armory will keep your fingerprints on file, so you only need to supply them once to Capitol Armory. * 7. Can I add my spouse (wife/husband) to your trust?
Yes. If you purchase our trust, you can add them as a co-trustee prior to submission, and they’ll need a photo, fingerprints, and personal information. If you add a co-trustee after your Form 4 is approved, you do not need to provide new fingerprints or photos for that person. * 8. Why can’t I use my phone/tablet to certify?
The ATF eForms system typically requires a desktop or laptop with a physical keyboard to complete the 4-digit PIN entry. Many mobile devices won’t allow proper PIN input.

3. AFTER ATF SUBMISSION

* 1. Can I check the status of my Form 4?
Yes. Call the ATF at 304-616-4500 with your serial number(s). They will tell you if your form is pending or approved. Capitol Armory does not receive intermediate status updates. Capitol Armory will notify you by email once your Form 4 is approved. * 2. I certified my form in eForms. What’s next?
Once you certify in eForms, your Form 4 is officially submitted to the ATF for a background check. The ATF will notify both you and Capitol Armory upon approval. * 3. I got a disapproval. What happens now?
Disapprovals often stem from background issues or paperwork errors. Capitol Armory will reach out with the reason and any next steps. Sometimes you can correct and resubmit; other times you may need legal counsel. * 4. Why is my Form 4 taking longer than average?
Background checks can sometimes be delayed by the FBI, adding 2–6 months beyond the normal timeframe. You can contact your state representative or email nicsliaison@fbi.gov (include your full info and Form ID: ATF Form 4) if your wait is significantly longer than average. Capitol Armory Form 4 Approval Dates - here is a link to the current wait times we are seeing. * 5. Can I move to another state while my form is pending?
Whether you are moving to a different state, which requires withdrawing and refiling your Form 4, or simply moving within the same state, please contact Capitol Armory at info@capitolarmory.com for assistance. Remember to update your government-issued ID immediately if staying in-state. * 6. Why can’t I see the Form 4 in my eForms account?
Form 4s submitted by a dealer on your behalf will not appear in your personal eForms account. The only way to check status is to call the ATF at 304-616-4500. They will also email you and Capitol Armory upon approval.

4. AFTER ATF APPROVAL (4473 QUESTIONS)

* 1. My Form 4 was approved! When will you ship?
Once the ATF notifies Capitol Armory of approval, you’ll receive an email within 24 hours to complete a digital 4473. Following ATF Procedure 2020-1, Capitol Armory will process the 4473, notify your CLEO of the shipment, and wait 7 days. It typically takes 2–3 weeks from approval to doorstep. * 2. What is a 4473?
ATF Form 4473 is the standard form for firearm/NFA item transfers. Although your Form 4 is approved, federal law still requires a completed 4473 before you can take possession. * 3. Which address do I use for the 4473?
Use your current residential address (matching your valid government-issued ID). Capitol Armory must ship to that exact address. * 4. What CLEO do I choose for the 4473?
Typically, it’s the police chief or county sheriff responsible for your residential address. If you’re unsure, enter the agency that would respond if you dialed 911. You may need to search online for their mailing address. * 5. Why can’t Capitol Armory tell me how to fill out the 4473?
By regulation, Capitol Armory cannot provide legal advice on your personal data. They can offer general guidance, but for specific questions or uncertainties, refer to the ATF’s official instructions. * 6. Why won’t my photo upload to the digital 4473?
Ensure it’s an image of your entire government issued ID in a .JPG or .PNG format. If the file is too large, the system will not accept it. You may use your phone to shrink the file size (small, medium, large). Use a desktop or laptop to avoid browser or mobile compatibility issues. * 7. Why does the 4473 show the wrong place of birth?
Sometimes the form auto-populates incorrectly. Try using a different browser or a desktop/laptop if you encounter issues entering the correct information. * 8. Do I need a desktop to fill out the 4473?
We strongly recommend using a desktop or laptop. Mobile devices can have problems handling form fields or signatures. * 9. Can anyone sign for my package when it ships?
UPS requires an adult signature (21+) at the delivery address. If another adult is available, that is acceptable. * 10. Can I have the suppressor shipped to my business or workplace?
Under Procedure 2020-1, Capitol Armory must ship to the residential address on your 4473 that matches your ID. * 11. If I’m local, can I pick up in-store instead of having it shipped?
Yes, if you are a Texas resident, you may pick up in-store after approval. Capitol Armory will process an in-store 4473. * 12. What if I’m not home on the scheduled delivery date?
We recommend using UPS MyChoice, a free service that allows you to hold your package at a UPS facility, reschedule delivery, or track more precisely. * 13. Can I choose another carrier (FedEx/USPS) or pay extra for faster shipping?
Capitol Armory typically uses UPS Ground with Adult Signature Required for NFA items. In Alaska, they may utilize USPS. Expedited shipping on NFA items is generally not available. * 14. How do I complete the 4473 if I have an out-of-state ID but moved here?
You must have a valid, government-issued ID showing your current residential address. If you recently moved, update your ID before completing the 4473. If you moved states after approval, Capitol Armory may need to reevaluate your transfer. * 15. What is the 7-day CLEO hold?
It is an ATF requirement as part of the transfer process under ATF Procedure 2020-1. This hold ensures your local Chief Law Enforcement Officer (CLEO) is notified before the transfer is finalized. * 16. Why is my CLEO hold taking too long?
It could be a mail delay or administrative backlog. If it’s significantly past seven days, Capitol Armory will verify that the CLEO notification was sent properly. * 17. I am in the military, my ID is for a different state than where I reside.
If you are active duty military, when filling out the 4473 Capitol Armory will need a copy of your current PCS orders, your ID (even if it is from a different state), and another document from a government entity showing your current residential address (examples: hunting license, carry license, vehicle registration, voter registration, LES, property tax etc). Capitol Armory's online system will prompt you for these documents when you fill out your 4473.
